Some heroes are handed their power — Tony Stark built his, alone, with nothing but a genius mind and the refusal to die quietly. This bust freezes the single moment that defines him: the man and the machine becoming one. Face forward, it's Tony — tailored jacket, open collar, the knowing stare of the smartest man in the room. Behind and around him, his own creation roars to life: the helmet splitting open above his head, red-and-gold plating deploying off his shoulders and spine, the arc reactor blazing at his back, the armour crawling up his arm in real time. This is the threshold — one breath before Tony Stark vanishes and IRON MAN takes over.

But fans never loved Tony for the armour — they loved him for the man inside it. The wisecracking futurist who hid every wound behind a joke, who turned arrogance into responsibility, and who, when the whole universe was on the line, was the one willing to lay everything down so everyone else could go home. Iron Man was never the suit. It was the choice to put it on. Owning this isn't just owning the most iconic hero of the modern age — it's owning the exact instant a flawed, brilliant man decided to become something greater than himself.

This listing is the 1:4 scale bust — approx. 255mm / 10.0 in tall, 273mm / 10.75 in wide, 164mm / 6.45 in deep, including the base. A commanding, desk-dominating centrepiece. Want him even bigger? Larger scales up to 1:2 can be arranged — message me before ordering.

— THE CRAFT & THE FINISH —
At 1:4 scale, resin printing isn't practical — so this bust is printed on FDM and then meticulously hand-finished: sanding, filling and smoothing, using techniques I've refined to get as close to a resin-quality surface as possible at this size. At this scale that's genuinely hard to do well, and it's where my time and skill go.

The whole piece — Tony, the armour and the base alike — prints in matte grey PLA: a neutral, painter-friendly starting point that takes primer and paint beautifully, so it reads clean and ready to bring to life before you've even lifted a brush.

A NOTE ON COLOUR — WHAT YOU RECEIVE: the vivid red, gold and gunmetal you see in the photos is the sculptor's PAINTED concept render. Your kit ships RAW and UNPAINTED in matte grey PLA — figure, deploying armour and base — a clean, neutral surface that primes beautifully. The full Iron Man colourway, the glowing arc reactor, the polished metal — all of it is yours to create with a brush. The render shows what's possible; the kit is your blank canvas to get there.

Being upfront: this is a handmade, hand-finished print, not a factory-moulded product. It won't be flawless — you may spot faint layer texture in places or a small imperfection here or there. That's the honest nature of a large-format print finished by hand, and it's part of what makes it a piece YOU complete and make your own. What you're assured of is care, dedication, and a quality you won't find from most others working at this scale.

⚠️ CARE — INDOOR DISPLAY PIECE
This is a PLA print, made for indoor display. Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight, heat and hot cars — PLA can soften or warp with extended sun and high temperatures over time. Treat it as the indoor centrepiece it's built to be and it'll hold beautifully for years.

This is a hands-on kit for makers. Prime, paint and assemble Tony into a finished centrepiece that's truly your own — including bringing the armour, the arc reactor and that classic red-and-gold to life with paint. A little light sanding and gap-filling helps the parts seat snugly; glue them together after priming/painting and once fully dry (super glue / CA glue works well). Always prime before painting for the best result.
